Apparently writing out your thoughts daily can be extremely helpful and productive with regards to planning your days, taking personal inventory of your life, and creating a record to go back and enjoy in later years. It can be therapeutic to get your thoughts onto paper. The process of journaling forces you to be intentional about setting time aside each day or night to write down what went on or what you were thinking about that day.
Writing about your job, your family, your goals, whether you want to win an awesome prize, and everything else important to you can help you gain clarity and focus. Writing in a journal can also be very relaxing and help clear your mind. What better way to lighten the load on your brain then by getting some of the stuff in there out onto paper? You can also use your journaling time for tapping into your creativity. Perhaps allocate a few minutes during each journaling session for some creative writing versus just writing about your day to day life.
Writing is exercise for your brain. It may even help you to relax at the end of each day therefore setting you up to hopefully get a restful night’s sleep. If you are struggling with insomnia then perhaps writing in your journal can be part of the solution to get you back on a solid and peaceful sleep cycle. There is no limit on what you are able to write and the possibilities are endless. Keep writing until you start to feel tired. Hopefully once your journal session is over, you will be able to get back into bed and drift off into a peaceful night’s sleep.
