I used to be in such good shape. What happened? I never had to think about what I ate, my blood pressure or cholesterol levels, or my cardio health. Now that I have put on some extra weight and have been feeling sluggish, it is time to commit to getting healthy. Perhaps if I felt better I would not be having these sleep issues. Perhaps if I ate healthier and got some more exercise my clothes would fit better and I would have a lot more energy. Going for a run or even a walk, doing some push-ups, or lifting some weights will get me back on track. But it is the middle of the night, do I really want to go out for a run or a walk? I just want to enter to win $500 cash on here hahaha. Maybe you have a treadmill that you can use for the next thirty to sixty minutes. But what if I don’t have a treadmill, what else can I do?
Let’s think back to elementary and middle school. What exercises did I do? How about jumping jacks? I don’t need a treadmill. I don’t need a lot of space. I don’t need to buy any equipment. They get my entire body moving and give my heart a great workout. How many jumping jacks should I do? Start with a manageable number and then work your way up. Maybe the first night you should do ten. Then another ten. Then another ten. Three sets of ten for a total of thirty jumping jacks is a great place to start. You can then start to increase the amount of your sets. You should be able to get to sets of fifteen, twenty, and even twenty-five in no time at all. Hopefully you will also help tire yourself out and can then get back into bed and possibly fall asleep. If not, try to do some push-ups. It may be really difficult at first especially if you have not done any in a long time so start small. Try to do two or three. Just get started.
