Let’s see what’s on TV you say to yourself. You pick up the remote and start channel surfing hoping to find something that catches your interest. Or maybe you prefer to go straight to the guide channel and start scrolling to see what’s on. Are you in the mood to watch a game show, a sports game that was played last night, maybe just some sports highlights, or a replay of a game from last year? How about a documentary? You can learn something new about a breed of bird or shark and the narrator’s voice is usually soothing and can help me fall asleep. Perhaps watching a show about how a previous civilization became extinct will help you relax and fall asleep. How about a sitcom or drama that you’ve already seen every episode millions of times? Laughing probably isn’t good for my insomnia so I am going to go with the serious medical or law drama.
Movies are good to keep me occupied for a few hours. Should I watch an old classic that I can repeat every line or try to find one that I’ve never seen before? How will I know if it’s any good? I think I’ll stick with the one I know and know that I like. Again, laughing probably won’t help my ability to be able to fall asleep so I’ll stay away from the comedies and go with the drama, mystery, romance, or thriller film. Should I look at my cable TV options or see what’s on some of the streaming services? Maybe I'll just play Insomnia Sweeps and try to win a cash prize.
